Handcrafted in Vienna from fragrant, vegetable-tanned leather, each cover is infused with plants, herbs, and wood extracts that allow it to develop a rich patina over time. Its sleek design makes it one of the slimmest and most flexible travel journals you can own.
The refill notebooks feature smooth, natural paper from Sweden and Austria—designed to elevate every writing experience, whether you prefer pencil, pen, or fountain pen.
Refills are available in lined, dotted, and squared formats, as well as art-grade drawing paper.

Product Sustainability
Each Paper Republic journal is handcrafted in Vienna from the finest, vegetable-tanned vachetta leather sourced from a family-run tannery in Tuscany, Italy. The leather is certified by the Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium (Pelle al Vegetale) and tanned using only natural raw materials — no chrome or synthetic chemicals are used.
This traditional process celebrates craftsmanship while protecting the environment.
In our shared commitment to sustainability, Paper Republic works to minimise overproduction, so select items may occasionally be out of stock.

All Paper Republic refills use acid-free, FSC- and PEFC-certified paper made in traditional European paper mills, and are printed in Vienna with eco-friendly, vegetable-based inks.
Care & Use
Your Paper Republic journal is designed to age gracefully — each mark, scuff, and tone shift tells part of your story.

Leather: Over time, the vegetable-tanned leather will deepen in colour and develop a natural sheen. To maintain its suppleness, occasionally buff it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid oils or commercial conditioners; the leather’s natural finish doesn’t require treatment.

Refills: Replace or rearrange notebooks as needed. Use the included ribbons or optional ribbon kit to secure multiple refills.

Storage: Keep your journal away from prolonged moisture or direct sunlight. If it becomes damp, allow it to dry naturally at room temperature.
