Handcrafted in Vienna from vegetable-tanned leather, the cover softens and deepens with time, becoming a reflection of how it’s used. Inside, smooth, fountain pen–friendly paper from Sweden and Austria creates a writing experience that feels steady, fluid, and considered.

At the center of the set is the Monteverde MP1 fountain pen—created to mark the brand’s 25th anniversary and designed to feel just as special in hand as it is on the page. Paired with Pelikan Brilliant Brown ink, it brings a warmth and character to your writing that invites you to stay a little longer.

Inside, two thoughtfully chosen refills—a blank notebook and a Week & Notes planner—offer both open space and gentle structure, allowing the system to adapt naturally to the way you think and plan. Each Paper Republic journal is handcrafted in Vienna from the finest, vegetable-tanned vachetta leather sourced from a family-run tannery in Tuscany, Italy. The leather is certified by the Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium (Pelle al Vegetale) and tanned using only natural raw materials — no chrome or synthetic chemicals are used.

This traditional process celebrates craftsmanship while protecting the environment.

All Paper Republic refills use acid-free, FSC- and PEFC-certified paper made in traditional European paper mills, and are printed in Vienna with eco-friendly, vegetable-based inks.

                 

The leather cover will soften and develop a natural patina with use. Minor marks and variations are part of this process, adding to its character over time.

To maintain its condition, avoid prolonged exposure to moisture and store in a dry environment when not in use.

Refills can be easily replaced or rearranged, allowing the system to evolve as your needs change.
