Visconti Rembrandt Series – Blue Fog
Visconti began in October 1988 thanks to a successful partnership between two Florentine entrepreneurs: Dante del Vecchio and Luigi Poli. From Florence which is a city deeply connected with handcrafter jewelry, leather goods and any other form of art, the Visconti brand has gained recognition across the globe over the years.
An icon of craftsmanship, Visconti mirrors Italy’s quintessential values of design and creativity, tradition and innovation, quality and luxury.
Visconti has always been a synonym for elegance. The strong values of the brand are the result of extensive technological research rooted in masterful craftsmanship and a solid Italian legacy of style.
Visconti’s Rembrandt collection took its inspiration from the famous 17th century painter, Rembrandt Van Rijn. This artist was a Dutch Golden Age painter and is generally considered one of the greatest visual artists in the hisory of art and the most important in Dutch art history. His work depicts a wide range of style and subject matter including; portraits, self-portraits, landscapes, genre scenes, allegorical and historical scenes, biblical and mythological themes and animal studies. He was known as a painter of light and shade, the Chiaroscuro technique, which uses strong contrasting colours between light and dark using shading to represent three dimensional forms.
Visconti mimics Rembrandt’s Chiaroscuro technique by using a unique mixture of variegated resin, which are hand mixed, creating swirls of light and dark colors. Every fountain pen is unique, a true masterpiece in its own right.
The Ponte Vecchio clip on the Rembrandt fountain pen was launched in 2003 as an homage to Florence. The bridge that connects two riverbanks is an allegory of the dialogue and connection between different cultures, past and present, tradition and innovation. The pen cap uses a simple magnetic closure and a metal trim ring.
